CLICK! CLICK! FLASH! FLASH!
I really appreciate those who come up to me and ask for my permission to snap a photo with me.
It must have taken the person a lot of guts to come up to me and ask for a photo op.
And in appreciation of that and his/her politeness for treating me like a human being with feelings, I will be more than happy to oblige.
However...
The dilemma:
It is when they DON'T ask for my permission or....
when they come and ask for a photo op just when I was about to put the spoon in my mouth, or when I am in a hurry...or
when I am busy doing something else and they'll be calling me from a hundred metres away and ask me to go to THEM... or
they start snapping anyway from afar...
That's when I don't feel wonderful inside to oblige to their requests.
Nevertheless, I will oblige anyway....
I mean, I would do the same if I see MY favourite artiste up, close and personal like that....
I too will get all excited and wish for a photo op with them...
Yes, I will stop in my tracks for you and oblige anyway...
And I will beckon you to come to me instead of me going to you...
I will put my spoon down and subtly tell you that I am trying to eat, but I will oblige a smile for your camera anyway...
BUT...I will cover my face or face the other way once I realise that you are secretly snapping my photo from the next table...
Recommendation:
Come and meet me and ask for a photo op, it's OK... I am human, just like you.
But please let me eat first before you do that.
If you see me relaxing over coffee and have finished my meal... by all means, come and sit with me and I will give you the warmest smile so that your photo will turn out wonderful.
And for those snapping away from the next table.... I know you're not my fan... because if you are a fan, you wouldn't be snapping away secretly.... I know you're just excited that someone you see on TV is sitting at the next table... so you feel the urge to snap away... .... but put yourself in my shoes... how would YOU feel if someone starts to snap YOUR photo like that?
it must be hard kan kak dib.. dilemma nih.. all it takes just being polite and reasonable.. no rocket science for that.. tu pun kengkadang org takleh figure out.. i hope i get to see u personally one day .. boleh la kita borak pasal kucing!..hhehe
ReplyDeleteyunosar... you are right.
ReplyDeletei do enjoy being appreciated by my fans tho...if only they ALL would treat me like a human being with feelings too.
insyaallah satu hari pasti akan berjumpa.
take care!
OK, if I see you bila-bila, I tunggu you terbungkang kekenyangan, THEN I ask to take photo with you. Can ah? Hehehe...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, peminat-peminat ni pun bior le bebenor sikit... jumpa celebrity ke, VIP ke, orang biasa ke, tetap perlu berbudi bahasa. Tak gitu?
Salam Kak Dib,
ReplyDeletelike me somehow i yang malu nak tangkap gambar dgn celebrities ni. takut kejadian yg tak diingini tulah...
ive experienced last year, nak sangat tangkap gambar dgn one male celebrity nih. i dok tunggulah dia habis makan (buka puasa masa tu) last2 tengok dia dah balik , i terlepas..huhu sedih jugak sebab memang dah lama nak tangkap gambar ngan dia. ANW, apa2 pun lepas ni nampak kak dib lg sekali akan ku tunggu jugak utk tangkap gambar sbb dah ada guidelines...love you
achieq
Errr....may I have your permission to have my pix taken with Rajoo? Talk about love at first sight....since he's shy, I'm going to have to make the first move, right? Oh...Rajooo....
ReplyDeletepernah nak bergambar ngan kak dib tapi tak tau masa tu sesuai atau tidak (takut kak dib ada agenda lain) n kak dib berlalu pergi meninggalkan saya terkebil2... huhuhu...
ReplyDeletepi bani... kita manusia sama sahaja... muah!
ReplyDeleteachieq... betul gak kan... takut dia blah plak ek... ok my recommendation is... masa artis tu tengah makan, you approach dia and cakap, maafkan saya cik anuar (misalnya), lepas you makan boleh tak i ambik gambar dgn you.. tapi you makan dulu lah, i tunggu kat meja sana k?"
ReplyDeleteinsyaallah mujarab... ehehe
cat-in-sydney... rajoo says.... purrrrrrr
ReplyDeletechilun... kalau you nampak i busy... approach jer... kalau kena dgn bahasa dan intonasinya boleh membuatkan i cair tauuuu... walaupun tengah busy
ReplyDeleteaww it's just so disheartening when people just failed to use their FOC, God-lent brain to think about all the small things like this eh sis?
ReplyDeletebut I guess that's the part and parcel of being celebrities or well-known persons, kot...

otai... can i be your student!... your class sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeletethanks for the idea.... insyaallah dengan dorongan dari otai, Allah akan membuahkan ilham di minda saya.
amin
otai.... come to think of it... perhaps you can be my content consultant!
ReplyDeletejom kita buat sama2 nak?
otai.... when i went to jakarta.. there was this place called KIDZANIA.. it is like an amusement park... the only difference is... kids go there to experience on what professionals do...
ReplyDeletethere are mockup jobs everywhere, from newsroom to dentist, to fire brigade, police, pilot cafe, hair saloons...
kids go there and employ themselves into these "companies" and they will be given tasks or uniforms to function as the profession of their dreams.
best thing was... airasia sponsored a fliht simulator and kids line up to be "pilots" everyday
that's an idea!
Wow, from some dilemma becoming into business venture suddenly.
ReplyDeleteDilemma: oh well, as per episode 1, it's the same to me too, I understand how you feel and I get the exact same thing regardless local or overseas. In the Chinese entertainment scene, I get more exposure in overseas more than local and their reaction is even worse than local. Maybe Malaysians aren't really bothered about celebrities that much as it's kinda common once in awhile to see us but they will STILL invade our privacy.
I remembered when I was in HKG and I had to go to into the washroom. These bunch of girls came up to interrupt me then grab the autographs and photo snaps and all that... but little do they know that my valve would erupt any moment if the 20 odd girls would not let me go into the washroom any sooner. They just had to block the mens' room door.
Luckily a security guard was coming out of the washroom and helped cleared the path for me. Moments later, they are still hording the door even after I came out of my relief. Oh well, kids nowadays would do anything.
There's another time in Taipei. Same case as well in Xian, China. A group of guys and girls were pointing here and there and they started shouting for a bunch of the artistes including me just when we were shooting live! yes, ON AIR, ON SCENE, WASTING FILM... oh well, as our dearest Kak Adibah said it... they are humans and we understand how they feel cos I too will go fanatic when I meet my Idols.
Heck, I go head over heels and GUGU-GAGA when I see Kak Adibah in person too. Hehehehe...
Oh well, if you guys do get into the idea of the Kidz thingy, it'll be great. Count me in? Cheerios..
BC/Brandon C
P/s: oh yeah, Selamat Hari Raya too...
dear brandon.... it's either they will be so excited to see you... or they just couldnt be bothered...
ReplyDeletethere were times when i smile at people... and they dont smile back...
and yet people say artists sombong.... ah well..
heheheheh thanks for sharing your experience brandon...
i guess we just try our best to please people...
what's important is we dont forget who we are..
love your "eruption" story eheheh
i wish you all the best in your career.... tell me about your latest album... can buy ah?
